We took 5 minutes to chat to Jordan Braithwaite, DCM Client Management Supervisor. Managing the team of DCM Client Managers in Richmond can provide a varied work day but just don’t get him too excited about savings rates…
How long have you worked for DCM? 1 year 7 months
What is the highlight of working for DCM? I enjoy working for a company that values its employees, whilst continuing to expand at pace. Work wise, I enjoy the constant and varied stream of daily queries from clients, staff, or IFAs that can arise – which means no two days are ever the same.
What does a typical day look like for you? Arrive around 8:15am, I’ll check my emails, and then check the financial news. Then I begin checking the Client Manager reviews of client’s portfolios. The Client Management team regularly review a client’s savings accounts portfolio and will make recommendations for the best accounts to hold client’s cash savings. Typically, we review current client savings accounts against the savings marketplace to hold their money in the best rates for their situation. We deal with personal, corporate, and charity accounts, along with Power of Attorney accounts, and with accounts constantly changing, it’s our job to shoulder the administrative burden of moving money for our clients, whilst keeping funds secure, and making sure they achieve the best rates they can.
In the afternoon, I’ll usually complete a bit of housekeeping, generally quick checks to make sure that everything is as it should be, then I’m back to checking more account reviews. If there are any queries relating to DCM, I handle those. I’ll also work with the team to review progress on any internal projects, or I’ll help them out if they require any assistance. Normal home time is usually around 5:45pm but certain busy periods for client savings can mean a few later nights, especially when it comes to tax year end and client withdrawals!
Tell me something unusual about yourself? I sneeze when I’m excited.
Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead? A very tough question……….both are brilliant. I’m not up to date on The Walking Dead, but I enjoy both shows thoroughly. If I had to pick, I would go with The Walking Dead because of The Walking Dead Game, which was brilliant also.
If you won the lottery, what’s the first thing you would do? If I won enough, I’d want to buy Leeds United. If not, I would go on a safari with the better half, and buy my parents a new house and car.
